GROUP-LIFE at ncc

GroupLife at NCC is all about helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus through meaningful community. Our groups meet weekly, either online or in person, creating opportunities to build friendships, encourage one another, and grow spiritually together.

Community Groups (Join During the Fall & Winter)

These are our primary discipleship-focused groups, typically meeting from September through June. Community Groups are intentionally closed after launch so that trust, consistency, and deeper relationships can develop throughout the year. Come to group launch during late August / early September to get plugged into a group!

Year-Round Connection Groups

If Community Groups are not currently open for enrollment, there are still meaningful ways to get connected.

Throughout the year, we offer a variety of men’s and women’s groups that welcome new participants. These groups are a great way to build relationships, find encouragement, and begin connecting with the NCC family while you wait for the next Community Group season.
Groups vary in focus—from fellowship and Bible study to hobbies, events, and shared interests—giving you multiple ways to plug in and do life with others.

FAQs About gROup life

Community Groups are gatherings of individuals who meet regularly (weekly or every other week) to pursue five core purposes: fellowship, worship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism. Members commit to sharing life and faith together, creating a space for meaningful relationships and spiritual growth. A healthy group includes both relational connection and study that challenges participants to grow in their faith. A typical meeting includes social time, discussion or study, and prayer.

Community Groups are CLOSED groups, with two designated seasons each year when new members can join, as well as opportunities to join by invitation from a current group member. This approach isn’t meant to create exclusivity, but reflects the belief that deeper growth and meaningful connection are best cultivated in a consistent environment where members are committed to walking together over time.

If you miss an enrollment season, fill out the interest form and we’ll help connect you with a group or work toward starting a new one.

Connect Groups are smaller gatherings of people, similar to Community Groups, but they’re centered around a specific purpose or focus that brings people together—such as fun hobbies, processing grief, or shared interests. They are OPEN for people to join through open enrollment, unlike Community Groups, which for the most part have specific enrollment seasons and center around growing to be more like Jesus.

Groups typically meet anywhere from 1-4 times per month, for 1.5 to 2 hours. Most groups take breaks during the holidays and summer.

Most groups meet in homes or on church property (Olson Mansion). The majority of groups meet in areas close to the church. Groups are open year-round. Anytime is a great time for you to join!

Group members that meet on campus in the evenings offer childcare several days a week. Groups that meet off campus do not offer childcare offerings
